I’m writing this article because I think it’s useful for all those people who want to change something but don’t know where to start.
Many things stop us from starting now to work on our dreams, so I think that even if some information may seem obvious, they can be used to outline the process for the realization of any result, because planning is the best thing you can do.
KNOW YOUR GOAL
Is not enough knowing what you want to achieve, you have to live that, you have to imagine you in that situation.
First step for this is write on paper your goal, and describe it, go inside every detail.
After that you have the full description of your goal.
SET YOUR PRINCIPLES
You can set them again imagining to be the person you want to be, what principles would have the person we aim to become?
Remember your principles and act in base of them.
DRIVE
You need to establish a drive; the drive is the reason that take you up in the hard moments.
The drive is essential, it saves you when you’re about to quit, so, write it on paper, read it when you feel like you can’t do it.
MAP OF COMPETENCE
write all the competence that you need to have to achieve the goal
SPLIT AND SMALL RESULTS
putting small goals along our path is a way to stay motivated and not lose the habit of receiving a prize every now and then, beyond this it will make you feel closer and closer to your goal, so it will be easier for you to continue.
divide your results into 3 periods short, medium term and long term, in turn you can divide one of these periods several times, however I consider never setting a result before a week from now, but of course there are exceptions .
CREATE THE HABITS
building habits is the hardest part, as mentioned in several articles in this blog, motivation is important but it won’t be the one to maintain our perseverance, that’s why our habits take care of it.
But building good ones is difficult while bad ones are much easier.
My advice is to not try to do more than 4 habits a day. It takes months before a habit becomes part of us.
habits are the cause of our success and failure
LIKE THE PROGRESS
Moving forward is important, but sometimes it’s also good to stop and look back all the way you’ve come, and that even if you haven’t reached your result yet, you’re better than yesterday, and you should be proud of yourself.
