Embracing the inner voice

The biggest regret I could ever have would be not living the life I truly wanted to live. But what is stopping me from living that life? I believe it’s distraction. We are too distracted to really appreciate what we have, to connect with ourselves, and to feel the signals life sends us.

How can we know what we want to do if we don’t even know ourselves? I need to stop distracting myself to avoid hearing that inner voice, because it is that voice that makes us grow. We can avoid it again and again, but one day, we will pay the price.

I believe that a conscious life is a well-lived life, not a distracted one. In this moment, I realize I want to do more. I want to be less distracted and more attentive.

I know it’s difficult. We’re constantly bombarded by distractions, with social media being one of the biggest. But this superpower—living consciously—can be achieved by embracing boredom. Accept being alone with yourself, without any distractions. Don’t try to avoid that inner voice that speaks to you.

It will be uncomfortable, because that voice won’t talk about tonight’s game, but about your deepest fears, your dreams, and your loves. Get used to it, because it’s the best way to grow.
